Joseph A. Magnus : 13yr MGP Private Barrel From Redstone Barrel Society (MA)

Nothing like a 13+yr MGP-sourced liquid GOLD private barrel from @redstoneliquors!

👃: Musty corn, Caramel, Rye spice, Burnt brown sugar

👅: Butterscotch, Brown sugar, Mocha latte, Some earthy notes, Heavy sweet cinnamon, Toast, Oak, Very viscous mouthfeel, Chewy.

🏁: Long finish, Dry, Red hots, Bubble gum, Oak

Wow this is amazing! I know I say this quite often, but recent store picks I have tasted have just been one-upping each other over and over again.

This pick from the Redstone Barrel Society is no exception! Owner Kamal Ganglani and his team have outdone themselves with this one.

I’ve enjoyed some Magnus picks, and been meh on others (all of the Dickel sourced picks I’ve tried have been ), but this one is sooooo good. I’m a big sweet tooth and this just hammers 🔨 it with the dark sugary notes. But make no mistake, it also offers some great earthy notes (think fresh cut grass on a warm fall day) to create the perfect balance of approachability and complexity.

I bought this bottle myself and have not been paid or compensated to submit this review. This is just a great private barrel that has lived up to very lofty expectations.
