Rabbit Hole Kentucky Straight Bourbon

This week’s #tastingtuesdaybrings me to my first venture into @rabbithole and I have to admit this is some unique stuff! Read below for first pour tasting notes ⤵️.

👃: Bread pudding, Brown sugar, Dark baking spice, Clove, Caramel, Black cherries, Orange peel.

👅: Orange citrus, Caramel, Luxardo cherries, Anise, Cinnamon, Wheat Bread, Lady Fingers

🏁: Short and dry, Decent amount of spice, Cherry, Citrus, Leather

A Four-Grain bourbon, this one stood out to me right from the very start, but the complexity is where this #dramreally shines.

I went back to the glass multiple times throughout the night and it kept surprising me, if not completely changing.

I’ve used the term roller-coaster to describe whiskey before, but this one takes the cake. I have to be honest. I didn’t like this on the first taste. It seemed dry and aggressive, but what I figured out was that I hadn’t tasted something quite like this before. It took a bit for my palate to catch up.

When it finally did, I was extremely happy with this purchase.

It’s not available everywhere yet, but you can be sure that I’ll be stocking up when it eventually makes its way to New England! Unless of course you want to hook a brother up Rabbit hole! I hear the Heigold is a whole different animal....would love to try😉.
